Edet Amana Foundation Collaborates with Pro-Health to provide Free Medical Outreach

As a way of giving back to the society and to continue its philanthropic gesture, Edet Amana foundation, an independent charity organization with a mission to raise the standard of living of undeserved people and communities in Oron Nation and Nigeria at large, through interventions in healthcare, education, skills acquisition and economic empowerment, the foundation has fulfilled its yearly ritual of providing healthcare to the people of Oron, Akwa Ibom State. 
The 2019 edition of the outreach kick-off on 30th December, 2019 at Methodist Central Primary school in Oron.


The NGO, being an independent foundation, has its cardinal touch point ranging from empowering the less privileged in the area of entrepreneurship, training and seed funding. The foundation’s flagship program, Oron medical outreach tagged: (Oro-MedOR) holds annually in Oron.


The progenitor of  the foundation, Mr. Edet Amana while speaking with press men, stated that in seven years, the organization has reached out to over 7,000 people in Oron Local Government who have been beneficiaries of EDAF’s free annual Oron Medical Outreach Programme Oro – MedOR.
‘’I’ve always had a passion to use what God has bestowed in me to bless other people. I love to see people live a healthy lifestyle, hence my decision to start the Edet Amana foundation. The foundation took a proper leap when I celebrated my 80th birthday.’’ Edet Amana, stated.
‘’We chose to bring this initiative to the rural area because we realized that they lacked proper access to healthcare facilities within the locality.’’ Edet Amana reacted.


The executive director of Pro-Health International, Dr. Iko Ibanga, also reaffirmed its commitment to continue to partner with the Edet Amana foundation for the yearly health outreach program in Oron, as it has been a smooth run.


‘’Working with Edet Amana foundation has been awesome. The platform has given me the opportunity to use my skills to offer help to those in need of health care.’’ Ibanga revealed.
The foundation which has consistently delivered its primary goals and objectives in the past seven years, has doubled its effort this year, by playing host to 2018 winner of Miss United State of America, Andromeda Peters, who was a volunteer during day one of administration of drugs and check ups for the beneficiaries.


Andromeda, while speaking with the media on her experience in Oron, she said, “Volunteering has been a part of my life for a long time. My major concern has always been towards health and well being.”


Target beneficiaries for this year’s outreach were, Aged women/men, Young Adults, Youths and Children.Some beneficiaries of the outreach poured encomiums on the organizer, Mr Edet Amana, for its consistent charity benevolence to the indigenes of Oron nation.
